Lucy
Therapy Dogs International

Lucy is an associate member of Therapy Dogs International. She is a registered trained dog who loves to hear children read. "Tail Waggin' Tutors" has been described as a phenomenal program with far-reaching benefits.

Therapy Dogs International is a volunteer group organized to provide qualified handlers and their therapy dogs for visitations in a variety of facilities and settings.

Reading to a patient therapy dog such as Lucy can be quite an incentive to read! This helps build confidence with reading. Such a relaxed environment can foster reading skills and cause them to grow as a supplement to the studentís current reading program.

Lucy has visited many classrooms at both Towns County Elementary School and Towns County Middle School. All the students have enjoyed her and beg for her to come as often as she can. We are grateful to her handlers, Gordon & Sally Frank, for giving back to the community by volunteering their time with Lucy.
