Resources > Family Connection

Family Connection, a voluntary statewide network of 159 county collaboratives in Georgia, is the vehicle that drives community collaboration to improve the quality of life for Georgia's children and families. County collaboratives are committed to:

  • Working together in Georgia for community progress.
  • Sharing and using resources more effectively.
  • Using data to inform decisions and improve results.
  • Serving children and Families for more than a decade.

The Family Connection network formed in 1991 with 15 original communities. Since then, the network has expanded statewide into all 159 Georgia counties in 12 regions.

At the local level, we work with collaborative organizations bringing together representatives and leaders from state agencies, civic groups, local businesses, faith community, elected officials, and other citizens to address the challenges in our community.

The Family Connection Fact Sheet presents a brief overview of Family Connection history, work and milestones.

It takes us all working together at all levels to effect change in the lives of Georgia’s children and families.
