Our Library/Media Center

The Towns County Elementary Library/Media Center serves a student body of approximately 600 students ranging from grades K-5. We also serve Pre-K and Head start classes. There are approximately 15,000 volumes of books in our collection. The classes have a scheduled library visit once a month. During this time, reference skills are taught along with reading enjoyment. Each year we share Georgia Book Awards, Celebrate Dr. Seuss's Birthday, National Library week, and holidays. We are partners with Mrs. Irma Flanagan's Literature classes and they come and read to us each semester. Also, other classes are available to the teachers and students on a requested as-needed basis. The library media center maintains a learner friendly environment. We have a flexible schedule for circulating books.
