Towns County High School

Message from the Principal

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year!

Once again, it's both a privilege and an honor for me to serve as the principal of Towns County High School! I continue believe in this school and what we're trying to accomplish, and my commitment for this school and the people of Towns County runs deep.

Each new school year arrives with great promise, and this year is no exception. New beginnings provide an opportunity to renew our commitment to each member of our school community. Each of our students plays an important role in making our school unique and highly successful through academic, athletic, and creative pursuits. Additionally, every member of the TCHS faculty and staff is committed to providing students with an experience that is contemporary, challenging and rewarding.

It is our expectation that by providing high-quality instruction and multiple opportunities for extracurricular participation, all of our students will exhibit the skills to succeed in the world of work, the military, or any type of post-secondary educational institution. We are fortunate to have a dedicated faculty and staff that provide a high quality educational program for all students. I am extremely proud to be part of this community.

Last year, at the beginning of the summer, a Student Advisory Leadership Team (SALT) was established, inclusive of four students from each grade level. One of SALT's responsibilities was to create core values that will function as our commitment to the school community. Together they selected the following core values for Towns County High School:

  • Teamwork
  • Character
  • Honor
  • Service

As we start the 2014-2015 year, let's keep those core values in mind! Let's not only begin our school year, but continue through the school year by working together to provide an educational journey which is rich and challenging for all students. I truly believe it's going to be another great year!
